The Kingsbury Charity was formed to provide relief for residents of the ancient parish of Kingsbury when in need.

The Kingsbury Charity originates from a bequest in 1719 of a Mr. Richard Bowater who lived in Chalkhill House which was just south of where the town hall stands. He left this bequest to the Parish of Kingsbury to assist the poor and needy with the necessities of life, and to supply apprentices with the tools of their trade. This Charity was later amalgamated with the Charity of Francis Perry Stubbs in 1882.

It has since grown into Almshouses for the people of Kingsbury and has two sites which comprise 39 flats in total. For the full history click here.

Applicants will need to be resident in Kingsbury or have family ties in the area and be aged 55 or over and of limited income or on state benefits.

Accommodation is provided for persons in financial hardship with a preference for those in their later fifties and the elderly and able to live independently, if necessary with the support of a care package.

Both developments are one bedroom flats on ground and first floor dwellings. Our properties are also Warden controlled.
